That’s why we created the ultimate event checklist! Please refer to the guide below to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy the perfect function!
There are a few main factors to a successful party- good food, good drinks, good people, good music, and comfort for your guests. Follow the list below, to ensure your party is a GREAT party, but making sure your guests are happy and the function runs as smoothly as possible.
Catering (for finger food/Canapes)
The rule of thumb is the following;
5 choices per head will suit a light day meal
7 choices per head will suit a light evening meal
9 choices per head is able to replace a full meal
11 choices per head is able to replace a full meal – large eaters
Amorish staff provides excellent service to your needs for the event and we suggest you TAKE ALL THE EFFORT OUT OF DOING IT YOURSELF and hire our friendly staff, leaving you to enjoy the function with your guests!
Drinks
Generally work on an average of 5 drinks per head. This can change depending on the guests you have invited to the function and also the time frame in which you wish to serve in. As Amorish only provide food waiters drinks staff with the right certificates to serve alcohol can be hired through

Also make sure plenty of water is water available for guest.
Times and Dates
Consider the time of the function, and ensure that the catering to suits that time of day (e.g. 6.00pm functions would be dinner for guests.)
Invitations
Be sure to send out invitations to the function as early as possible, 1 month before the event, and chase up your RSVP's! Be sure to include dress standards in your invitations.
Glass and Stemware
You will need more glassware than guests attending. Guests will use more than one glass over the course of the night. Generally twice the amount is needed to ensure you are covering all possibilities, such as excess usage, more people arriving than expected, and/or breakages. We suggest hire equipment through

Seating
Make sure there is enough comfortable seating for all the guests. Once again, we recommend Lonsdale party hire 08 97262611
Comfort
This is a key factor to a party. If people are cold or uncomfortable, they will generally leave earlier than expected. Consider the possibility of patio heaters for outside.
Music, Lights and Entertainment
Young guests will want the music loud!
Make your life easy and consider a D.J.
For other functions, appropriate background music works very effectively. Jukeboxes just don’t cut it, they often get over crowded during the event with guests queuing up to place their favourite song in the list to play, this has another negative effect as it leads to some songs never appearing, as the list starts to build beyond the duration of the party. Hire a professional, a DJ that will bring you great dance lighting effects, and can play all your requests in an orded managed situation, to the right mood of the night. The DJ can also be MC of the event to help with speeches and anything else you require.
Wet Weather and Areas
Ensure there is a plan for if it rains, don’t leave it to chance, and consider outside marquees, and tarps, for greater outside shelter if worse comes to worse. Make sure there is adequate sheltered areas available if the rain comes. Also remember to set defined areas where smokers can go outside with ample amount of ashtrays for smokers.
Schedule
Have a set time in mind when to start the catering, speeches and cutting of the cake (for any assistance in this area please ask one of our friendly staff to help organize the event structure)
Answering Guests Questions
Avoid the “Where do I?” questions, and have places set out from the start where guest can leave their personal belongings such as hand bags, and coats at the venue. Another location that is necessary is the gift table for functions that would be receiving gifts.
